New beginnings....

We have rebadged Johannesburg (305) Catenian Circle.

Clearly, we are still the same Catholic stalwarts enjoying the mutual support of our brothers both in and out of South Africa. Our families are still very much engaged in our fun social events and along with our members are much involved  within our Catholic parishes....

However, it is time to share the magic. We want more Catholic men, their wives and families to join us in supporting our faith by regular interaction with each other but also to be part of our international brotherhood of Catenians. We meet locally and regularly. We plan activities and events we can share with each other and our Catholic communities. Catenians like 'fun'. All over the Catenian world our brother Circles and Provinces organise just about every kind of event for the beneficial enjoyment of Catenians and their wives and families. All are welcome. We also sponsor such events (like Flame ©... celibrated this year in March) for young Catholics. We want to promote these events. We want Catholic families across South Africa to know more about us and be tempted to join. So we have begun a new marketing campaign and soon Catholics cross South Africa will be seeing our stunning informational posters, leaflets and cards as well as our online promotions.... including this website and our social media.

Two new brothers join Jo'burg (305) Catenians...

We recently welcomed two new brothers to our Circle of Catenians.

More accurately, we welcomed one very new brother: Johan Els - seen here on the right. Bro Johan is an IT man and business owner based in Krugersdorp, Johannesburg.

The 'not so new Catenian' on the left is his dad... Bro Ed Murphy from Hastings, UK. Dad? Different surnames? It is a long and interesting story... come visit us one night and perhaps you will hear it. Bro Ed is this year's President of Hastings & Bexhill (66) Circle in East Sussex, UK... and a well known supporter of many Catenian Circles. He took especial pleasure in sponsoring his boy's membership of the Catenians and our Circle and he then joined us for a very special lunch afterwards with quite a number of local Catenians and their wives.

The BIG CATS are coming to Johannesburg...

Panic not.

We refer only to the impending visit by Catenians from the UK and elswhere who will be visiting us in October this year. The great and the good from across our Association will be spending time with us in Johannesburg before travelling to the Kruger National park and onwards to visit our brother Circles in Zimbabwe. Please come and meet our visitors and find out why so many Catholic men and their wives around the Catholic world enjoy belonging to the Catenians.

The tour is organised on behalf of the Catenians by Tangney Tours - details of the tour can be found here:

Visitors from Britain....

We have been fortunate to receive an October visit from distinguished Catenians from Great Britain along with their wives.

Amongst other forms of hospitality on offer, Brothers of Johanesburg Circle and their wives took our visitors off on a trip to the Elephant Park...

A good time was had by everyone in seasonally hot weather. The elephants are huge and majestic and seemed happily tolerant of us all.
